The 2013 "Australian Aviation Wildlife Hazard Group Forum" was held at the Queensland Museum with our event partner the Australian Airports Association.
The 2013 forum featured a two day program with an international keynote address provided by Sanne Patijn from Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam. A tour of Brisbane Airport was also facilitated on the second day.
For the first time, this forum featured a AAWHG Industry Award that was presented to FLTLT Bruce Preston from RAAF Base Edinburgh. Bruce was recognised for his management and direction of the Base Wildlife Management Program which is now viewed within Defence as the "Future Standard" for aviation wildlife management. In addition, Bruce was recognised for his assistance in the development of Australia's first working avian radar system.
