Regulations

The Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR) pertaining to aerodromes are located in CASR Part 139

Manual of Standards (MOS)

Certified and Registered Aerodromes are subject to the requirements of the Manual of Standards - Part 139 Aerodromes.   Section 10.14 of the MOS contains the standards relating to Bird and Animal Hazard Management for Certified Aerodromes.

Advisory Circular (AC) 139-26(0)

Information and guidance to the operators of aerodromes to monitor, manage and report their wildlife hazards in accordance with the applicable regulations and standards.  The circular was developed with the support of the AAWHG.

Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB)

Reporting Wildlife Strikes

The ATSB Accident & Incident Notification Form now includes bird/animal strike fields. This information is essential to help better understand the issues with bird and animal hazards.

Published Reports

Australian Airports Association

The charter of the Australian Airports Association is to facilitate co-operation among all member airports and their many and varied partners in Australian aviation.  This body has also provided great assistance to the AAWHG since its foundation.

 

Australasian Aviation Ground Safety Council

The Australasian Aviation Ground Safety Council features a broad membership of Airline Operators, Ground Handlers, Refuellers, Airport Operators and Government Regulators from both Australia and New Zealand. This council provides the opportunity to discuss and promote airport ground safety.
